Projects
Here you can see a selection of art projects that I have been involved in. Many are artist-in-residence projects supported by the Danish Arts Foundation (Statens Kunstfond).
I am open to collaborations on projects for people of all ages. If you are interested in creating a project together with me or involving me as an artist in an existing project, please feel free to contact me.
Frimod / Courage to create
In this project, together with author Marie Duedahl as well as staff and children at Rolf Krake School in Holstebro, we transformed their after-school care location into a new magical place that inspires creative expression and invites imaginative play. The room was divided into several areas with narratives such as The Elf Mound or The Wild Sea. Among other things, the children created beautiful collages of fantastical creatures, which were printed in large format and used to decorate the walls.
FRIMOD is a project created by Institut for børnekultur (Institute for Children's Culture) in collaboration with BMMK (Children's Encounter with Art). Supported by Spar Nord Fonden.
Labyrinth
Immersive installation at Limfjordsteatret Thy. A project involving 80 young students from local schools, who helped transform the whole building into a labyrinth, telling the story of nature fighting back against civilisation and claiming it’s rightful space.
Supported by the Danish Arts Foundation (Statens Kunstfond) and Thisted Kommune.
Growing Wild
Together with kindergarteners, we explored wild nature and how it would feel like to be as small as a little bee in this giant world. The project was a collaboration between a musician, choreographer, drama pedagog and me as an installation designer at Limfjordsteatret Thy.
On excursions to locations in the national park Thy we collected colours, materials, smells, movements and sounds in nature. We then created an installation where we made huge glowing paper flowers and built beehives painted with brushes made from nature's materials with the children. In the installation, the children created music and dance movements inspired by the nature we had experienced together in our excursions.
Supported by the Danish Arts Foundation (Statens Kunstfond).
Gensyn / Reunion
An art project about storytelling and passing on local historical heritage on the island of Mors. In collaboration with Museum Mors, Morsø Local History Archive, Limfjordsteatret Mors and the island's schools, we explored the town's archives. We learned about local history and created new narratives from the images we found. Through both analogue and digital collage workshops, the students created a surreal historical parallel universe on the island of Mors.
Supported by the Danish Arts Foundation (Statens Kunstfond) and the Northern Jutland Cultural Agreement (KulturKANten).
GENSYN er et kunstprojekt om at fortælle historier og videregive lokalhistorisk kulturarv fra limfjordsøen Mors.
The Memory Cave
Installation at Limfjordsteatret Thy. A sanctuary away from fast paced every-day life, which gave visitors a quiet space where they could calm their senses, get into a meditative mood, dive into their own childhood memories and write them down, either on paper with pencils or old typewriters. The memories and small stories were used as inspiration in developing a new children’s production for the stage.
Wild Things
Inspired by the centuries-old carnival traditions from the mountain regions of Eastern Europe, we collaborated with children from schools in Thy to create wild nature-beings based on the children’s own stories about their personal experiences with the wild creature inside themselves. The children performed in their masks and costumes in a wild performance created for the opening of Limfjordsteatret Thy.
Supported by the Danish Arts Foundation (Statens Kunstfond).
The Wild and the Calm
Land Art and performance project with school children from local schools in Thy - in collaboration with Limfjordsteatret Thy. The project took place in the wild and beautiful landscape of Bulbjerg in Thy National Park.
Supported by the Danish Arts Foundation (Statens Kunstfond).
